Hi! I am planning upgrade of one of my windows 2000 DC servers. It is simple question but I need to know if since my environment is mixed (2000 and 2003 DC servers) and my FSMO are on one of 2003 servers, do I have to run ADPREP for this upgrade or I can just go ahead and do upgrade?

MAYBE.

If you currently DO NOT have a Windows Server 2003 R2 server acting as a domain controller AND you are installing an R2 server as a domain controller, then you will need to run ADPREP on the Second CD of the R2 set. OTHERWISE, no, you do not need to run ADPREP since you already have.

Thanks, looks like I am going to have this time easy, I already have Windows Server 2003 R2 acting as domain controler.
