Has anyone had any success with putting a Solid State Drive into a BCM50 (or any other BCM)

I am trying to find a way of removing the weak point of BCM's, the hard drive dying.

Great thanks, the Intels are hard to find

Clonezilla! Interesting. With a second generic SATA controller off e-bay, I plugged
my (as above, 60gig which didn't work, but the Intel 40 did) 80gb half-unused drive
from the BCM in one port, the SSD in the other, and from a terminal, issued:
(keep in mind the source is on sda, the destination is on sdb - this will vary)

[pre]dd if=/dev/sda of=/dev/sdb bs=4096 conv=notrunc,noerror

dd: writing `/dev/sdb': No space left on device
15102135+0 records in
15102134+0 records out
61858340864 bytes (62 GB) copied, 2771.4 s, 22.3 MB/s[/pre]

It carries on until the disk is full. Being only 37-something gigs are utilised on
the source 80gb disk, I just let dd run out, as after 37 gigs, it's zeroes anyhow,
and not partitioned. (wasted) Just don't reverse your source and destination. You
don't get consumer-style "are you sure?" messages before encroaching upon disaster.
