i have win2kpro,sp4 installed on this small (3Gb) disk on a duo boot system, win2kpro is on both WDdisks, i upgraded the master (3Gb) to dynamic disk and when i reboot i get the error message;
:)C0000263{driverentrypointnotfound}
\systemroot\system32\drivers\dlkrts.sys
interlockedPoPentrySlist in driver ntoskrnl.exe))
only one disk (master)is listed during boot. tried reboot of last known good config. tried clearing cache, can boot in safe mode, have located missing boot file(ntoskrnl.exe), i do not have FDisk...yet!....any insight will be helpful to restore boot system.

Have you googled that error? Was there a reason to 'upgrade' (yes, I'm being ironic) to dynamic disk? I've totally avoided dynamic disks as they don't work with anything else, so if they go wrong you're stuffed afaik.

I'm not quite sure as to status of your system. You said its dual boot - 2kx2. And Safe Mode works - is that on the dynamic disk installation? What about the other one?

You could try reading technet/mskb articles about dynamic disks - eg, or hope someone here has practical knowledge of your issue.

I don't know if repair reinstall works on dynamic disks:-

Suggest if you want to use dynamic disks you set up and use a test system, then you can just flatten and reinstall it when things go wrong, and learn what you can and can't do.

Wolluf,
thanks for the response.
I did visit MSN for info and solutions. i tried the repair/recovery disk process(WMI), tried, making a boot disk with missing files(cant locate a "boot.ini"file anywhere!), tried, booting from slave,floppy and Cd rom (both disks have win2kpro installed). I also tried going in thru setup disks as in a new install to do emergency repair(it didnt work either) so im about ready to give in and do a complete reinstall...
i realize the dynamic upgrade has misplaced the files, which i think, if dynamic disk was configured at time of install, it could have eliminated these problems....as usuall im learning the hard way on this one....thanks again.
