Hi,
I upgraded a machine from norton av 2002 to 2003, and now when Outlook xp tries to connect to the POP server from our isp, I get the:

"Sending and Receiving reported error(0x80042108):Outlook is unable to connect....." error.

If I disable the email scanning portion of NAV, then it works.

Any ideas as to why this worked fine until I upgraded?

Operating systems is win2000 pro

Thank you.

Howdy:

Double check your email servers.. Norton has a tendency to place their server in the pop and smtp server areas..

There is also a known issue with norton where the scanning of outgoing mail takes so long that your connection to your e-mail server gets disconnected because of a timeout. The only fix that I have heard of for that problem is to disable the scan incoming/outgoing mail option.

I re arranged the order that it checks mail. It now is checking the exchange server first, followed by the external pop account. So far it hasn't acted up.........

Thanx for the input.
