I recently upgraded an IBM Thinkpad T20 from Win 2000 to Win XP Professional. Now, the cd-writer, dvd-rom and floppy drive aren't hot-swappable anymore. Does anyone know where can I download the patch for this issue? I went to IBM's website but I'm not sure which file I need to download.

Thanks in advance.

I think at a minimum you need the ACPI support driver updates, and the XP supplemental files. You likely are current on the BIOS revision, but check.

You should also see if the firmware updates available for the CD-Rom drive, and the PCMCIA services are applicable in your case.

I will warn you that installing the ACPI upgrade is tricky, so do it carefully. You may only be happy with a maintenance re-installation of Windows to force a rewrite of the HAL abstraction layer after the change.
You will lose your service pack and hotfix updates to XP and need to return to Windows Update to refresh these, but the rest of your installed software should be fine.
