morning all,
i have some macros written in xl2000. due to recent upgrades some users are running xl2003 and the macros no longer function as intended. i'm running xl2000 locally and was wondering if anyone has run across a converter tool for the vba or if i have to re-write on a workstation with xl2003.
thanks in advance.
regards,
longhair

Geez,

I'm running '97 code in 2003. Don't think that's your problem.

Please post the code in context, that fails to run.

SkipVought,
code runs, but incorrectly. columns are not properly alligned.
Code:
Workbooks.OpenText Filename:="C:\gm862\dsgm862.txt", Origin:=xlWindows, _
    StartRow:=1, DataType:=xlFixedWidth, FieldInfo:=Array(Array(0, 2), Array(8, _
    2), Array(11, 2), Array(15, 2), Array(26, 2), Array(54, 2), Array(67, 1))
regards,

Could it be a difference with the SOURCE DATE?

I'd compare the source data files.

SkipVought,
source data files are the same. it's just a small piece of code, so i'll hop on a workstation with office2003 when i get a chance and see what the macro recorder gives me. was just wondering if there was a conversion utility out there since this could eventually involove other, more intense bits of code.
thanks for your time.

I've got parsing that I use in code that was written in '97 that still runs correctly in 2003.

I think that you have other problems.

columns are not properly alligned."

Please go into more detail about the error and define "alligned".

Some syntax may have change slightly but there would be no conversion required.
