During the Win2k upgrade process, you will also be alerted of applications and sometimes hardware that are not compliant. Usually best to uninstall these applications and reinstall the Win2k versions of them after the upgrade.
I have done several upgrades with very little issues. Usually hardware driver related or outdated applications that need updating to the latest versions.
The big key though is BACKUP. Make sure you have a good backup of anything on the system before the upgrade.
