What are the specifics and requirements to migrate from 5.0 to Visual Net? If VB 6.0 is required, I am currently using Enterprise Edition. Must I migrate to 6.0 Enterprise?

You might want to repost in forum796. That is the .Net forum.

You won't need to make the jump from 5 to 6 before .NET. However, I would reccommend that you not simply just do a conversion but to basically start from scratch doing it the "right" way in .NET. Just because it can be done the VB 5/6 way in .NET doesn't mean that it is the best/right way to do it.

There is a good book out by Dan Appleman about the transition from VB6 to VB.Net. He discusses some of the differences and things to look out for. As bjd4jc, he also recommends that you start doing things the correct .Net way.

Sorry I forget the exact title, but it might be worth your while to take a look at.

I believe this is the book:

Moving to VB .NET: Strategies, Concepts and code

You can find it at:

If it ain't broke, it probably needs improvement.

Got it sitting on my desk, and it's a great book.

I'd also recommend Building Applications and Components in Visual Basic .NET, by Ted Pattison, Programming Microsoft Visual Basic .NET by Francesco Balena, and Applied Microsoft .NET Framework: Programming in Microsoft Visual Basic .NET, also by Balena. Every one of these books has given me a lot of help.
