For some reason, I am unable to click on the fields (design or preview) and see the selection; however if I click and hold, the orange outline will appear.

Some history...Originally 11 was installed over/along with 8.5. When 11 didn't respond as expected, We downloaded the upgrades to no avail. Next we uninstalled 8.5 and 11 and reinstalled 11 and the upgrades. It still isn't responding to field selection.

Any suggestions on a fix? This is very frustrating because I can't click and see what fields I've selected.

What OS are you running?

Perhaps if you change the settings in Control Panel->Display->Appearance to Windows XP or Windows Classic or some such it will resolve this, perhaps someone has customized the settings for certain events.

I'm running Windows XP and the display is set accordingly. Changing it didn't have any affect. Thanks for your response.

Hi,
What resolution/color depth are you using..
In Design mode. the 'orange' outline should appear instantly upon MouseOver and change to the 'selected' box on MouseClick.

(If you use Execl or Word. does selecting work instantly?)

I have no problem with Excel, Word or any other application. I also don't/didn't have any problems with vs. 8.5 when I use it off the server.

Vs. 11 just doesn't respond to clicking like it should. I am running a Dell with 1GB RAM and Office XP Professional SP1. So I know I have more than enough resources.

Our next step is to Ghost the machine and reinstall everything - ouch!

Thanks so much for your interest in trying to help out. This is a strange one...

Interesting that I just went to a client and they have the same problem, and they are running Windows XP SP2, never had CR 8.x, I upgraded the CR XI to SP2, and they have an HP desktop.

Did you ever resolve this?

Purdy annoying, that...

I went into the Device Manager->Display adapters and right clicked the display adapter and selected Update Driver, it found that a change had occured (like you it was an image, probably an inaccurate image), and it installed the new driver and the problem went away, plus the display is now a bit sharper.

Hope this resolves for you as well.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU AND THANKS AGAIN!!! Updating the drivers solved the problem.

God Bless You!
