We are planning an upgrade to Solaris 8 from Solaris 2.6.
We have a metadevice defined via Disksuite. Will this
metadevice survive the upgrade, or will I have to redefine
it and restore the data?
Why not just do a full install and reconfigure. I really hate to do upgrades I do not believe in them working correctly especially if you are using old software. If you were able too I would take a different disk and if you had a duplicate machine in which you did not need or some downtime on that machine I would try and build Solaris 8 on that and see what happens. FYI you may want to go straight to 9 I've been told by many customers that they have seen allot of performance since they have switched.
