Hi, I've just done a few upgrades from version 6.1a to 6.5 (business Objects full client) most of the PC's were fine, but some of them (in another building) came up with an "internal Problem" error when i ran the updated version.

Tech support suggested it may be a bomain.key problem, but none of the individual PC's have there own bomain.key (it's located on a server and shared)

Has anybody encountered anything similar or have any suggestions?

Thanks for any help....

Hi,
What is the db/middleware ? I came across this with oracle a few weeks ago and removed all bo and oracle client software, re-installed oracle client then re-installed bo and it worked. I must admit that I had to do this a few times but eventually it worked. I was also using a local bomain key though I'm not sure this matters. This was for bo 6.5.1 oracle 8.1.7 client.
Hope this helps.

Hi, using db2 version 8.1.... I'll give it a go though....

Tried this a few times, still getting the same error message though...

Had a funny conversation with the guy from BO tech support though. I've had this case open for a while now and most of there suggestions (in fact there only suggestion, but they like to go over it about 2 or 3 times) was about replacing the bomain key, which i did even though it's on a server and shared with working installations. This didn't work so i gave them a call about your suggestion and he said to give it a go, which i did and it still didn't work, so i call them back again.

After going over the issue again about three or four times the guy started asking me lots of questions which seemed to be going somnewhere, until of course he got to his final question.....

"Andy.... So tell me, what do you think the solution is???"

Priceless, makes me think it's not worthwhile keeping the maintenence contract up to date....
