having trouble trouble figuring this process out. I am trying to upgrade a s8300 server on a 350 gateway to 5.2.1 What is the easiest way or where can i find documentation. I'm using tftp2000 and i can connect, nothing is really making any sense.

What is your current hardware platform and CM software version?
Is the s8300 a main server or LSP?

Upgrades are best done with a CD on-site. Use a PC with a crossover cable to the s8300 services port. Upgrade with your login to the browser for the s8300.

I have engaged with Avaya and because we have support they will do the upgrade at no charge. The documentation clearly says that upgrading to 5.2.1 is not customer upgradable. I haven't found a way to do this without a CD and being on site so Avaya will be doing our entire system. FREE. or sort of free, maintenance costs.

I like to use an HTTP server. I install Apache on my laptop, copy the CD over and run the upgrade on the server. Just need to remember to add the /Releases to the URL.
