Our HP SureStore DAT8 backup unit just crapped out. HP wants some ridiculous amount to fix it so my boss is concidering upgrading to a 20/40 DDS-4. I'm wondering if our old SCSI card which came with the old unit, can be still used with these new faster, bigger tape storage units, or is there some new faster SCSI standard as well.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

What type of scsi card do you have....if it is an Adpatec AHA294uw scsi then that should work fine but you will need an Adapter.Or upgrade your scsi to a 29160lp adaptec scsi card to get the best performance out of your drive

hope this helps
