Hi all i upgraded a release 4.5,11c,SSC to release 5. There were some digital ISM, PCA and 2 packages upgraded, Upgrade was successful and keycode validation was also successful but after rebooting and few minutes i got error message " Security device not found or missing or security device have been moved" these type of message i get. I cold/softboot PBX with no success, I then reinstalled release 5 from scratch, i mean from PCMCIA, this time installation and keycode validation was also successful but after few minutes i get same error, when i revert back to release 4.5 it works OK. I don't know what am i doing wrong, The SSC Eng code is NTDK20JA and software daughter board release is NTSK01ADE5. In Keycode sheet the feature package is NTSK01GD.Can i use both these hardware with Release 5?? If yes then what i am doing wrong??
Regards

Is this a TDM only switch ? I know all the IPMG Release 5's I have done came with a new Security dongle. Not sure if the TDM only should have came with a new one.

Yes this is a TDM, i mean all analog and DLC cards with PRI`s.

I think you need to use a new dongle, its the dongle for a big switch because in theory you are big switch now

You don't need a new dongle, but have you checked the original dongle is fitted to the SSC card. With Rls 5 if you do a TDM only upgrade you keep the SSC card with its small system dongle, if you have any IP, even 1 IP license then the SSC card will be replaced by a CPPM card with a Large System Dongle and a number of MGC cards.

The dongle is fitted already. Any more help
regards

I have seen this on some upgrades. Remove the dongle and wope both sides and reinsert. do not touch the flat sides with your fingers.

Another thing it could be is the AUX id check to make sure they match what is on the dongle.

did you download the keycodes from the nortel website? if so check to make sure that the sys id matches.. i've seen nothing more then just a bad batch of keycodes cause simular problems.. some moves to 5 do require a new dongle, others do not.. it depends on ip lic and the way the keycodes were generated BUT the eng website at nortel should include that information

I reinstalled OS from scratch also with no database and it still gave same error,Tried cleaning Dongle also.
Yes i downloaded Keycode from Website and also got Blue keycode sheet from Nortel and System Id`s are same.
I am not sure about Daughter board NTTK13/25. I dont have these D/Boards. Still struggling to find out what would be the solution.
One more thing that when i got the Keycode Box it has also a Nortel package sheet outside box in which package details were mention, on this paper a keycode sheet and a security device was mentioned but inside Box i couldn't found any security device.
I am still not sure whether i need anew dongle for converting CS100M cabinet Release 4.5 to CS1000M cabinet Release 5.

open a ticket with Nortel at this point, sounds like you've tried everything else!

This was a problem in 4.5. Nortel has to write a patch for this issue. If the keycodes validated then it is not the AUX ID. I would contact Nortel and have them write a patch.
