Hi there,

I have an IP OFFICE 500 V2 running 7.0 preferred

What is the highest version I can upgrade to for free?

Any advice would be very kind

The reason for upgrade would be to support the following card:

COMBO6210/ATM4
VCM32 V1

Next question (if thats permitted) do i have to downgrade the above cards to firmware that suits 7.1?
i.e can I take a card from a r9.1 appliance and install it in a r7.1 machine? Could this be my issue?

Thanks

Martin (home user / geek)

Combo Card V1:

Compatible with these revisions of IPO software:
IP Office 6.1 - Must have a minimum software level of 6.1(20);
IP Office 7.0 - Must have a minimum software level of 7.0(12);
IP Office 8.0 or higher

VCM 32 V1:
Compatible with these revisions of IPO software:
IP Office 6.1 - Must have a minimum software level of 6.1(20);
IP Office 7.0 - Must have a minimum software level of 7.0(12);
IP Office 8.0 or higher

The highest release you can upgrade too for free is R7.0. Your control unit is locked into R7.0 so that is the highest release you can run.

When you put a card into a system it will upgrade/downgrade automatically to the release the system is running.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

Thank you both, thats very helpful.

Martin DC: I just pulled out a old and dusty R7 IPO with a Combo Card and few other cards. I will check on Monday. If you want the cards just pay me for shipping and they are yours to play with. I believe the other two are DS8's with ATM4's on top.

BTW if you are just messing around with the IPO, the combo card has 10VCM Channels so you probably don't even need the VCM32
