What license is needed to upgrade an IPO 500V2 on 7.0 (5) to at least something in 8.0, preferably 9.0? Didn't even know this system was out there untill a couple of months ago. It was installed by the last tech and he never mentioned it when he left. My issue is with the SNTP not reading properly. The system thinks it is 2018 and 4 something in the morning. Sheesh.
Thanks in advance,
DT

just as an fyi, the time being off has nothing to due with the current release, and you will need an upgrade license you see your BP, what is the time source set to?

With an upgrade license you can upgrade to any release.
If you want R10, you'll need to convert your licenses to PLDS.
You are on the first release or R7.
I would recommend upgrading to the final release of R7.

Check your time source as Joe2938 stated above.
Check you firewall to see if it's blocking SNTP
UDP port 123

Most Windows DHCP servers act as a NTP server. It is easy to check, connect your PC to the customer network as a DHCP client, find the DHCP servers ip addres with the DOS command "ipconfig /all", and change the PC time source to that address, then synchronize and you''ll see what happens, if it doesn't work try the default gateway or DNS servers or the domain controller.

As stated you can upgrade to 7.0(36) free of charge and is the usually the suggested upgrade when on 7.0 or lower. If you go above 7.0 you will not only need an upgrade license you will need an essential edition license. I am not going to go over the R8 virtual essential edition as it has been covered in other posts and I don't suggest that method on production systems. If you go to R10 you would need to convert licenses to PLDS.

All that being said, why not contact your BP? They can quote you for licenses and give you all this information at the same time.

Thanks, guys. I have a great BP and will. Just thought I could find a quick answer to the question, as I didn't really know how to ask. I will be on-site next week, so hoped to have my ducks in a row before hand.
Time source info is set properly. It's on our own network over a WAN, so the firewall may be the problem. I'll check with the net guys.
