HI,

I have a Win2000 PDC and an NT4.0 BDC, The BDC is running Exchange 5.5.

I want to Upgrade the BDC to 2000 and have decided on the following order.

1, Upgrade BDC to Win2000 Server.
2, Upgrade Exchange 5.5 to 2000
3, Install Active Directory Connector on PDC.

Does anyone have any comments or suggestions on this order?
Thanks

I believe you'll need to install the AD connector before upgrading to Exchange 2000. You'll also need to run forestprep and domainprep.

See the procedures documented on technet.

You should upgrade your PDC first and the BDC last. W2K will not allow you to upgrade any of your BDC's until you have upgraded your PDC. Once you upgrade your PDC, you will have an active directory domain.

thanks,

when you say "upgrade my PDC", are you meaning the installation of ADC?

In order to run Exchange 2000, you must run it in an AD domain. In order to upgrade your NT domain to a W2K domain, you must first upgrade your PDC to W2K. Hope this helps.
