I am attempting an upgrade from 8.0.xx to 9.0.12 as the interim step before going to R11. When I choose file/advanced/upgrade the fields that normally show what version are available are blank, and all fields are grayed out, not allowing me to select any boxes. I have de-installed and reinstalled Manager and rebooted the system and am getting the same result.
My Avaya distributor is the one who suggested 9.0.12. I am wondering if a logical next step is to de-install this version of Manager and re-install a different version in the 9.x family or if anyone has any suggestions that would be awesome. Thank you in advance - I appreciate your help.

It sounds like the path to the files needed is incorrect. Check your working directly .bin file path and make sure it is pointing to the correct directory.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

My apologies - I checked the path and both the config and.bin seem correct. Originally they were not; the customer was running 11.0 Mgr & even though I deinstalled it the upgrade still chose those directories. I deleted the folder that held the program and changed the working directories to the correct ones to no avail.

Only other thing I can think of is if you installed the lite version of manager. The lite version does not have the files needed to do upgrades. Other then that I am not sure what else could be the problem.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

I have the full version. Thank you for your suggestions - I appreciate them.

I have decided to try again with a different computer. Is 9.0.12 the best release or does anyone here prefer a different version? Thank you.

Just to satisfy my curiosity - what makes 9.0.x better than 8.1.x? Thank you.

I have an upgrade license but I have to go to 8.1.x or 9.0.x first to expand the boot loader. If they both do it what makes one better than the other - just idle curiosity on my part....

nothing it will just expand the boot loader then allow you to upgrade.
Mike
