Upgrade NAM from 3.0 to 4.1

I have upgraded a NAM from 3.0 to 4.1 and it seemed to take the upgrade ok. It sang when complete but now none of my feature codes work. I have upgraded from 4.0 to 4.1 ok in the past but I was given a machine with this 3.0. Thanks in advance for any help.

what codes do you get when you press f*1

A 3.0 NAM required an upgrade keycode. Did you hear ascending tones or descending tones? If descending, then you don't have the required keycode installed.

Maybe also try XFTEST and remove the codes then reboot NAM

i agree with curlycord try the xftest remove all feature codes and power up the nam..make sure the nam is powered off when doing the xftest

I removed the feature codes and rebooted the NAM it now says none registered.

It beeps twice when it powers up then after a minute it beeps once and never sings. Feature 903 does not work to reset feature codes.

F903 is only for Flash vmail

2 beeps = 2 channels I think.

Make sure you give it at least 5 minutes to boot.


Then maybe try to upgrade it again, and listen for the tones as exmogger said, descending is not good....or did you for sure hear ascending tones?.

Aslo what do you mean by 'I was given a machine with this 3.0.'

What is the machine?

I upgrade VM and phone systems for the company I work for.
I work more with the Call Pilots more often but occasionally NAM,s.
I have upgraded many from 4.0 to 4.1 with no problem this is the first one that is 3.0. The unit sang after the upgrade but has not sang again since rebooting after the upgrade.

The tones are descending after the upgrade procedure.

That means no upgrade keycode and it's still R3.0. What kind of MICS is this connected to?

6.1 MICS. I think it was a bad NAM out of the box.

A 3.0 NAM is not compatible with a MICS R6.1. That's why it won't finish booting. Try it on a MICS R3 or lower.
