Upgrade Meridian81C

Hello,

I have to upgrade the Meridian81C rls 25.40B to rls. 4.5.
The MC cards have IPtrunk 3.0 and IPLine 3.05.02. The PBX release 25.40B is not compatible with actual MC cards and IPline 4.5 is not compatible to rls 25.40B, so I have to upgrade both, PBX and MC in the same time.

Questions:

1. This are the right steps to upgrade the ITG Cards:
a. upgrade IPTunk from 3.0 to 3.1;
b. upgrade MC firmware from 6.5 to 6.8;
c. upgrade IPLine from 3.05.02 to 4.5;
d. upgrade IP phones firmware.

2. After I'll upgrade Core1 to 4.5 the FIJI cards will upgrade automatically?

3. There are other issues that I have to be aware about this upgrade?

no you've got it pretty well down, and i haven't seen any post about problems with that upgrade. make sure you have your new patch load ready post upgrade.. all old patches are blown away. i also make sure i have my original software and keycodes before i start, no one wants to have to backup to the old rls, but i have been on upgrades that backing up was the only option, other then re-typing a database..

Hi Johnpoole,

I have the Deplist for Rls 4.5, the new keycode and software rls 4.5, so it seems that will not be a problem to make the upgrade.

be sure you have the old keycode, and the old install disk. those are your only guarantee that even if the new stuff fails, you can restore a database.. i have had maybe 3 out of a few hundred upgrades where i had to reinstall the old stuff.. usually due to bad disk from nortel or in one case, bad keycodes

Hi,

My plan is to do upgrade to Core1 and 1 MC to rls 4.5 and then test if it' works and then upgrade Core0 and the rest of the MC. If the test fails I'll downgrade the Core1 copying from Core0.

Do you thing this is posible, or I need the software cd with 25.40B release?
