Hello everyone,
We have SQL Server 2000 and I need to upgrade to SQL server 2005. We purchased a new server and I installed SQL Server 2005 on it. My question is: can I simply use the Copy Database Wizard to copy all of the Databases from the old (2000) server to the new (2005) server and then change the compatibility lever to "SQL Server 2005 (90)" then run sp_updatestats and I'm done? Or do I have to install the SQL Server 2005 on the old server and basically go through the upgrade process? I have about 40 SQL databases and they are used by Microsoft Dynamics (accounting system). Thank you!
