I found out recently that the BCM400 will no longer be supported. And I was reading about an upgrade kit that will take my BCM 400 ver.4.x to the BCM450 v.6.0.

Is this upgrade even worth it? What new features does the bcm450 have with the ver.6 software?

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

a big part of the 6.0 is things like voicemail to email (unified messaging) and click to call (personal call manager) that were not compatible with windows 7 on your 4.0 are compatible with 6.0.

Thanks. I was also reading about using Nortel IP phones with the 450, and does it offer the ability to setup an IP phone without a VPN? Can I just point the phone to en external IP and NAT to the BCM450?

you need a NAT Transfersall Licence to allow remote working without a VPN.

You need a static ip address to be allocated to the Broadband router.
You then programme the ip phone to so as it can be port forwarded to the bcm when it reaches the router.

Its all explained in the docs.
