I'm trying to perform an online upgrade of MXe controller running 9.0.2.18 to MCD4.0 UR2

When I run the software upgrade tool and pull the licenses, it returns all 0s. Does it mean that I'm not entitled for the upgrade or it a software bug.

I successfully pulled licenses from the controller itself, so AMC account is active.

The Software Assurance has expired for the site. It won't let you upgrade across revisions without active SWA.

Correct. Just confirmed with my VAR. They are quick when it comes to sell something :)
Any way the answer worth the star

SWA is changing almost right away. The new model will relicense based on active licenses instead of base size of system. Your VAR might be able to tell you which way might be cheaper. (if they are so inclined that is)

The other thing to remember is if software assurance is still on, then you have to go to the AMC and reset the software level of the 3300. There is a drop down box where you would select MCD 4. This creates a new password ( going from 9 to MCD 4 requires a new password. Once that is done during the software upgrade if you hit retrieve at the licensing screen, then the 3300 will retrieve the new password.

LoopyLou. The AMC automatically updates during upgrade. Nothing needs to be modified on the AMC prior to upgrade. As long as the SWA is active, you're good to go.
