So I am upgrading my IPO to Ver 9 from 8.1. I got the key I ordered and installed it. The key reads that is Small Upgrade Site 7 (9.0). Then when I reload the config it comes back Invalid. Is this OK? Can I run he update and have it will be fine when it gets to Ver 9?

Just want to be sure before I break something as this is my first upgrade. :)

What version manager are you running that gives you this error? If you are on 9.0, it should come back as valid. 8.1 manager won't recognize the new license code and will say invalid.

If it still says invalid, check the source of your license. Most keys come via an Excel spreadsheet and have the serial number at the bottom of the tab and also on the first column of the spreadsheet. If they match with the one on your system, you may have a corrupt key code - it's happened to me before, rare though.

You can always downgrade again if it doesn't work.
But make sure you backup the .cfg

Does your site fit the criteria of "Small Upgrade"? You'll be sad if your site has too many phones.

The site is small. Under 20 people, I am using admin 9.0.3 on my laptop. I am concerned about the 7 in the name of the license as this site is 8. I am thinking it's the key and will be on the phone today to get that fixed. Thanks,

Oh and always back up, heard that loud and clear.

The 7 in the name of the licence means it is the 7th upgrade licence released. This is a 9.0 upgrade licence. 9.1 upgrade licence is version 8, 8.1 upgrade licence is version 6, 8.0 upgrade licence is version 5.

Not the most helpful, but the numbers in brackets show the correct software version you can go to.

Don't even pay attention to the "Required" licence section in the upgrade window, that just adds to the confusion :)

I only ever find that useful on second user systems with a blank feature key to know what version it is licences to.

Well my vender said it was a glitch and that I should go from 8.1.67 to 8.1.9something I did that and somehow went right to 9. Installed the key and all was good. Dodged a bullet there. Thanks for the information everyone. You guys are good bunch.
