Upgrade from 8.1 (67) to 8.1 (91)

Hi All

Go easy on me I am new to the IP Office. I am looking to update to the latest version of 8.1. Not sure what steps to take on this. I am currently using a newer version of manager for 9.0. Do I need to step beck my manager version?

any help would be great

Hi Dan

That would be the easiest way to do it without discussing .bin files. Download the admin 8.1 (91) and install manager. When that is installed open Manager and go to file/advanced/. It will tell you the current version of the control unit and should tell you that 8.1(91) is available. You do not want to go to 9.0 without an upgrade license. If you do you will receive a nice message on all of phones displays and none of them will work.

this is a big help. since I have 9.0 manager loaded on my laptop already, will loading 8.1 cause any issues?

To save your current instal, just rename the folder as Manager 9.0 or something and then install 8.1

Personally, I keep an external hard drive with all the releases of manager on it. You can then use the latest release Manager and in the upgrade wizard point the upgrade to the external hard drive folder with the release you want to upgrade to.
