Hello all, i need help with my first software upgrade. I am using upgradewiz manager. When i select upgrade and tell the system were to get the Binery files from, it come back and check all the files that needs to be upgraded, then when i select upgrade it say failed on all the files. It does not give me any errors or reason why. Thank you in advance.

Sounds like bad SD card.

Open the config, see if the FK (dongle)number is present in Systems tab, or have a look at the lic's, see if they are valid.

If not, you have to do the famous SD re-format.
(lots of tips on how to do that on the forum)

Indeed, you are using the wrong password, try "password" it is not the same password you use for Manager :)

I was using the wrong password. It worked great. Thank you very much.

No, because it's in the same generation 6.0. If they were trying to go from 6.0(x) to 6.1(x), then a license would be required.

Also remember to turn off the firewall on the PC you're running manager. I've forgotten that a couple of times.

You need a license to go from 6.0 to 6.1?

Figure it out damn-it!

yes you do and if you then want to go to R7 when it comes out you need another one.
Good money in licensing these days, they discontinued the licenses for up to R10 upgrades because it was to cheap. :)

Shine52,

You only need a license when:

Upgrade an ip500v1 to 6.0 or 6.1
Upgrade an ip500v2 when it is in use for more then 90 days.

When you upgrade within that 90 then it is free.
In this case you will see "255" As "required license" instead of 2 (6.0) or à 3 (6.1)

honey, i fried the IP Office !!!

Thanks. Tough to keep up w/ these days. So if I take a IP500v2 out of th ebox, stick the SD card in which gives me 6.0, then immediately upgrade to 6.1, I'm good...right?

What is so different in 6.1 from 6.0 that it needs a license?

Figure it out damn-it!

Just some more features as usual, but Avaya wants to squeeze money out of upgrades now too as well as endpoints :)

You can even let it run for 90 days and then upgrade.
It is actually 100 days.
After that then it needs a license.
This way every new system can be used without a license.

Try this if is new install

Change System Name and IP Address on LAN and / or Disable DHCP Server

Send config Reboot

Then upgrade

Know it sounds odd, but it works for me
