Today I tried to upgrade from 5.2.4 to 6.1 3300ICP.
This upgrade is to use 5224 ip phones.
I started Sofware Installer and got as far as inputting
options password and entered the new pswd.
System did a back-up and installed software but
failed at system and password options bit of it.
I cancelled this and started over.
System back-up completed
upgrade from 6.1.2 to 6.1.2 completed
sys options & password completed
could not restore db because of sys options pswd
had to be entered.
selected done.
opened browser and log into sys.
Checked ver 6.1.2
No db.
Entered new opt & pswd not valid.
I don't know if this means anything but the new pswd
indicates that I am using 5.2.4
I tried downloading pswd from mitel and got a new one
I selected 6.1 software

Any help

My understanding was that 6.1 (and later) requires linking up with the AMC for options and passwords.

You should be able to load 6.0

Yes, you are required to create an Applications Record on the AMC website for 3300 ICPs. It used to be that you could check the licences (MOSS) and licence passwords for the 3300ICPs assigned to your company while on the Mitel On Line website. All those legacy (pre- Rel6 machines) units that were previously found there are now assigned to your company's AMC account. You will need to search for the unit by system ID of your 3300. Take that unit and create an Application Record for it. The AMC will assign a unique Application Record ID number for this unit. Because it is a legacy product, the licences that were previously assigned to it should still be there. If you purchase additional licences for this system, you will apply them here in the AMC.

Log into your 3300 ICP. Go to the System IP setup configuation forms found under System Configuration. You will need to add in a DNS server that your 3300 can reach. Usually, this can be the IP address of a router or gateway on your network that has direct internet access. Then you go to the Licence options form (Not sure of the specific name). There you will find something new, an option to enter in the Application Record ID from the AMC website. Once you enter in the number, click the "retrieve licences" button. If the 3300 has internet access and the Application ID was valid, you will see that all the licence fields will be auto populated including the licence password. Click save and you are now done.

I think that there is a way to download from the AMC to your laptop and then upload that to your 3300. Haven't done that though. I have heard that it could get messy.

Good Luck!

My Biggest problem is that I almost always believe what I tell myself.

You can still download a moss sheet but if your 3300 can get to the internet just add a DNS server to the config and download your licenses keys. The 6.0 moss will work on a 6.1 system.
