Upgrade from 3.4 to 6.0 advise

Can someone offer advise on upgrading from NBU 3.4 to 6.0? I am currently using Windows NT4.0 and plan on ending up using Windows 2003 with 6.0. Can I skip any upgrade levels or do I have to go from 3.4 > 4.5 > 5.0 >6.0?

I would draw a line in the sand and start fresh with 6.0
Howeer, I would keep the current 3.4 for restores but do all new backups on 6.0

Bob's probably got the best answer there; 3.4 to 4.5 is easy, as is 4.5 to 5.1 (we're a fairly small setup), however can't speak for 6.x as am still collating info on what's involved, but the fact that i'm still collating would suggest that 6.x isn't easy
