What is the recommendations from everyone? I have a IP500 with about 50 users connected to a PRI. Debating if I should go ahead and upgrade from the 4.2.14 current load it is running to the latest 5 which came out in Q12010.

I usually wait for a few maint releases of a release (5) to deploy it, but now they released 6.0. However, 6.0 costs upgrade license fee or something. So I would thinking of going with 5.

Anyhow, just wondering how stable 5 has been for people?? I know if it ain't broke don't fix it but I don't like getting too far behind on releases because then when you do have a new feature you need it's a nightmare to upgrade when skipping 3yrs of releases! Thnx

5.0.8, 5.0.15 and 5.0.18 are the 5.0 releases so I would go for the last one
4.0.23 is also an option.
For 50 users upgrading to 6.0 costs about 200$

If you're using SCN with multiple avaya's the I would not recommend 5.0.8 and 5.0.15 but go for 5.0.18.

5.0 is very stable and always upgrade to the latest available version.

Thanks. We are going to goto 5.0.18 and then maybe pay for the 6.0 license since our dealer claims avaya is running a $200 special on that now which might not last. But not going to goto 6.0 for at least one or two MRs.

6.0 is just out and i do not believe it is a special price!!!

This is the normal price so i think they are just wanting to make money without being honest to you.

Smart dealer, they are right after all. Pricing in the future will always go up but that is more due to inflation then up-pricing by Avaya.
