Hi
I currently have 3 active directory server 2000 on same domain. I like to upgrade al three to windows 2003, accouding microsft website I alhave to do is run this

The adprep utility supports two command-line arguments:
adprep /forestprep: Runs forest upgrade operations.
adprep /domainprep: Runs domain upgrade operations.

I am little confuse, am I run this on all three server on only on the master server, after I run this than I just run the upgrade? that all? it there anything else I need to do?
also I have exchange 2003 on the windows 2000 box, and I likt to upgrade this too, is this just a upgrade or I have to swap exchange server? please help
Thank you

Run ADPREP /FORESTPREP on the schema master.
Run ADPREP /DOMAINPREP on the DomainNaming Master.

Depending on your configuration they might be the same machine.

You can upgrade the Exchange box too. Doing so will allow you to use advanced features of Exchange 2003 such as Outlook over HTTP.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark

is there I way I can tell which one is my schema master and domainnaming master?
for the exchange server I just need to insert the windows 2003 disc and run upgrade that all?
Thank you

NETDOM QUERY FSMO will report back which servers hold which FSMO roles.

I would personally backup Exchange first, then stop all Exchange Services while performing the upgrade.

I hope you find this post helpful.
