Hi all expert,

I`m the beginner of IPO..since we purchase a IPO IP500V2 system with SD Card Mu Law (700479710) and version 7.0 (5) and upgraded to 8.0 (16) on an impulse than the system automatically generate 10 virtual license such as tele user , advance edition.....etc..but it should be auto remove after 90 days..

finally,i tried to downgrade to 7.0 put the SD to my laptop and format SD and recreate SD U-Law with 7.0 software..and than insert it back to control unit and send a new config just created to system...i found that, the combo card ATM4 (700476013) does not working and showing COMBO6210/Unknown and control unit. This trouble gone when i upgrade it back to 8.0 (16).

Would anyone can teach me how could the system can detect the combo card on version 7.0??or someone also tried the issue and what happen will come up after 90 days without upgrade license??

thanks alot..

You need to check the Avaya web site regularly to ensure tyou have the correct release of firmware.

1) Don't use 8.0.16, it was quickly replaced by 8.0.18 to resolve a bug with licensing after an upgrade, since then we have had 8.0.42/43/44 all in rapid succession. V8.0.44 is the version you should be using.

2) The latest combo cards can only be seen by firmware 7.0.12 and above, the current release is V7.0.32, again you should not have been using 7.0.5 for some time.

Read TB 140 &142 for full details on what will happen when you upgrade.

And remember the golden rule "if it ain't broke don't fix it!", once you have installed an IPO only upgrade it if you are experiencing problems or need a new feature.

A Maintenance contract is essential, not a Luxury.

Dear IPGuru,

Really thanks you for your prompt reply.that mean i back to V7.0.32 will fix the problem??btw the V7.0.5 provided by vendor DVD..could you please give me more information about TB 140 &142 ...

We had the same combo card issue. We found that if you re-upgrade with all modules plugged in that the combo card will become visible. We have run into two situation where this fixed an 'invisible' ATM daughter board and an issue where the digital ports quit working until the 8.0.42 upgrade was run a second time on the system. The combo card seems to have issues auto updating its firmware to match the system in which it is installed, but responds well if the whole PBX is re-upgraded (forced by checking all boxes manually) to the same release.
