I've got a computer here with Symantec Norton AntiVirus 2006. I keep getting an alert saying my definitions are not up to date. When I run Live Update, it installs the definitions successfully, or so it says, but the status window keeps telling me they're out of date. I've tried even downloading the definitions manually from Symantec's web site, and it still doesn't work. Does anyone have any ideas?

Download and install the latest version of liveupdate from symantec. Also make sure you have admin rights on the PC.

I had that happen once or twice. This was what worked for me:

Reboot after the software indicates that the download is complete. This will trip a flag so the software knows it's up-to-date.
