Updating report

HI,
We are at the beginning of a project here and we have modification done to the package quite often. As you know each time we modifiy the package when we open report a validation against the package take place. For now it's ok we only have fifteen report. But my question is : there is a tool to validate and save report automatically without open it. I ask that because we will start the report production really soon around 100-150 report have to be done in the first part of the project. So, that kind of tool will be really usefull. Or if you can just tell me how you manage package update in your business when you have a lot of report.

We are facing the same situation ... For now I did'nt find any tools to do it. I try to get the Administration cours of Cognos 8 BI to get info abour it.

for now we pack reports two or three times a year and between that each time we need to upgrade the model we add version of it in the content store. Efter that we only need to Pack the report we have to work with the other one use old version of the model ... I think ... ;-)

And what is your first language? Français?

Oui je parle Français, et je suis de montréal.
Pour la mise à jour des rapports j'ai trouvé des outils mais tous sont payant. Je croyais qu'il y a aurait une façon plus simple de mettre le tout à jour. Sans doute que quelques compagnie ont développé des outils interne avec le SDK de Cognos pour faire cela.

Let's assume that you develop the reports in a seperate Cognos environment. You then export a package with a set of of reports from development to test (or directly to production) As long as you perform this dual approach then opening the report in production should not trigger the validate process (as validation has occured in development)

At least , this is what I would expect to happen. So the question is , how do you develop?
