I have never updated firmware file on my C-lan or VAL boards. I need to. I know when you down load the updates it give you some directions, but when have they ever been correct. Look for step by step help and caring support from you all. I have a G3 Si V11

Below is the method to update firmware in a VAL Board

· Download the patch from the Avaya Site
· Loginto the Definity using a Supervisor Login ID
· Enable Filesystem Board ( VAL Board) by the foll Command
Enable filesystem board 03A03 login ftplogin ftppassword
· To upload The imagefile follow the foll procedure.
From the PC where you have downloaded the Firmware Execute the foll command
Cd\your staging area
ftp ip address
binary
cd put filename.ext
ls (To check if the file has been copied)
bye ( To stop FTP Session)
· To download from RAM (Of the VAL Board)
Log into the switchand Give the foll command
Change Firmware Download
Give the target file add (eg. 03c03)
· Disable the filesystem by
Disable filesystem board 03C03
· Test firmware download
· Reseat the VAL Board.
· Check the firmware using
List config all
