Hi

After updating the display driver (by running Support Pack, and rebooted) the display properties (settings) is jammed at 640x480 and 256 colors. It complaines when trying to setup/install the new display driver.

I beleive it is related to pcAnywhere beeing installed on the server.

Does anyone has a procedyre for doing this correctly.

I came across this problem a few years ago, but I can't remember exactly what I did.......
Found this on the symantec pcanywhere knowledgebase
hope it will provide some help....
I'm guessing you are using pcanywhere 8 or 9.x on nt4
2. Launch pcANYWHERE 8.0.
3. Click File menu, and then click Application Options.
NOTE: For pcAnywhere 9.0, click Tools, and then click Application Options.
4. Click the Host Operation tab.
5. pcANYWHERE 8.0 has two settings for the video mode. Select Compatibility.
6. Apply the changes, and close pcANYWHERE.
7. Make the changes you desire to the video driver or screen resolution.
8. Go back to pcANYWHERE and reset it to use the Default (Accelerator Enabled) setting for the video mode.

sincerely, Bart

Evilbarts procedure can work, though on one of our servers after a similar upgrade pcAnywhere caused the server to reboot on exit. A better approach is to remove pcAnywhere before upgrade and re-install it afterwards.

Regards.
