We are a coam with an Option 81C PII procesors. We have been told we need to update the DepList on our system but none of us has taken the patching class. Is this something we can and should be able to do ourselves? One of the guys thought this would be done in ld 143 but I think it is a PDT operation. Just looking for some info to lob at our management team in hopes of getting some help with this. Thanks in advance.

use ld 143.

command are mdp install or mdp refresh.
to look at existing deplist, mdp issp.

for a pII processor, you should use mdp refresh f0 <filename.zip>. the file name must be 8 characters or less.

mdp install command is usually used when there is no deplist installed or you want to remove all patchs before installing new ones. Don't want to use it if you might remove some special patchs that you already have.

The pII is real slow on installing a deplist. It can take from 30 minutes upto a hour for install.

Do you have access to the Nortel website for the Deplist or patches?

You did not say what Rls switch is -

If 4.0 - do not use MDP Refresh - get the entire Deplist and do a MDP Install

IF 4.5 or higher - you should be ok with MDP refresh - you will need to run MIRCC report from ESPL and click the Download Delta to get missing patches.

take not of special intructions - you may have to remove some patches, ini, run MDP refresh or install, and ini or sysload after.

If you run MDP Install, you may need to re-install patches that you may have had that were not in Deplist - the MIRCC report will have those listed.
