I have a vbscript that updates a couple access tables (just loads records). When I run it manually, it works fine. When I run it with an Enterprise scheduling tool, which runs as "system", the updates fail. Can someone tell me what I need to change? I'm using MS Access 2007.

Thanks!
Scott

By vbscript, I assume you're talking about an external file, and by "enterprise scheduling tool" I assume you're not talking about Windows Scheduled Tasks.

Given these assumptions, I'd ensure that the SYSTEM id has access to the database file. You should be able to check this via Effective Permissions tab.

Also, I'm assuming you're vbscript opens the db file directly as opposed to connecting via a ODBC connection.

Hope this gets you closer to the solution.

rs,

Sounds like you're sat on the wrong side of the system-admin pen.

Acent has already hinted.
If you are using an Enterprise tool - do you have the correct permissions?
