I have a customer that purchased a new IP Office and I agreed to configure it for them. When I went out and logged in through manager I received a message saying basically that the IP Office version is later than my Manager and that I should obtain a matching or later build. My manager is a 9.1.1.0 build 10. The customer's IPO is 9.1.6.0 build 153. My question is this, will some configuration options not be available if I program with my older version of manager? Also is there a site I can go to to download the latest Admin Suite? Basically all I want to do is change the extension length. I have the option if I create a configuration offline and send it to the new unit. My concern is that in manager I don't see the same versions of the cards as I see installed in the system. Thanks for any help you can give.

Do NOT use an older manager with a newer config/system. There will be issues crop up no matter how small the change is. I know that they changed the way they hashed passwords in that span, so if you open and save a config with that manager expect all your login passwords and smtp passwords blank themselves. I am sure there are plenty of other issues this is just one example. Get the correct version of manager and save yourself some hassle.

you will need a username and password to log into Avaya's site to load the version you need. Probably not the answer you were looking for

No matter how hard you try, you can't fix stupid...

So Critchey since they have Basic Edition and not Essential, would there still be problems? As I said, the main thing I want to do is change to 3 digit extensions. Mojoputter, so I probably would need to be an Avaya BP in order to login right? Although we used to be I may just try and see if my old logins work although I doubt it

Never mind fellows. Had a little brain cramp. I still need to upgrade Manager but I was able to get it configured.

Careful! some parts of IPO and manager change without telling you. Specifically, how passwords are hashed for supervisors/portal/SIP phones. If you pull a 9.1.6 config in 9.1.1 manager and push it back, you'll blow away a few things without knowing it.

Don't forget from 9.0 there is Web Manager which allows some changes from a web browser - not sure if this can change the extension length.

Thanks for all of the tips everyone. I'll download the latest version on Monday when the BP's link is back up.

Id complain that Kyle555 got a star for saying what I said after I said it, but he was the one who informed me about it to begin with so Ill give him another star myself.
