I am trying to update my Samba from 2.2.1a-4 to 2.2.3a-6 and am having problems. I have down loaded the RPM's needed for this but keeps coming with a whole bunch of dependencies that are needed. Is there any way around this. I don't know maybe I don't even have to upgrade, I am wanting winbind functionalitly and read that the daemons I need for this come in 2.2.2 and higher. I'm a little confused here. Help!!!

Try installing the new Samba with
rpm -Fvh --nodeps *.rpm
then, start samba and look for any errors in the log files. If it needs some other packets, find them using
Good luck. Cristian
