Update Micros 3700 "micros"."emp_password_def"

Is there any command available to update emp_pwd in "micros"."emp_password_def" table.

If you need to login into pos it is easier to activate the "Micros Classic Password Security" in Restaurant and log in via ID.

It is possible to set the password value using the same one way encryption and salt as Micros / Oracle uses but as AndreasZ stated, if you just need to be able to get into POS and reset the password enable classic security, update the password, and re-enable.

If you need a way to sync employees and passwords into Micros without using active directory, that is also possible but more complicated.

Ive been able to workout that in 5.7 the password field in the db is the encryption, followed by the salt, followed by the hash. However there is something padded after the hash.
Any can advise how to generate this full password field outside of Micros?

I've also found that if you know the password hash of one user you can copy it to another user and then you can login with their username. A bit dodgy.

@Menon - Yes enabling the integrated login makes logging in easy, but just requires you to issue all your staff with server credentials if you want to have a proper audit of what people were doing.
