Happy Holidays!

I am working on a small app that several users will be using and will have open at the same time. The app will be open on all the users desktops most of the time. What I would like to do is to update all open forms after one user adds a record to the database.

Is this possible with Access?
I know Access is not meant for multiple users, but are there any serious problems that anyone can see?
Ideally I would like the front end to be in ASP as apose to Access but I am looking for suggestions either way.

Just to clearify, user 'A' adds a record through a form (database is sitting on the server) then users 'B' and 'C' will need to have their forms updated to show the new record in the database. The forms will already be open on users 'B' and 'C' computers.

Any ideas?

Elliott3,

A simple solution is to set a timer event in the form. You can then use the ReQuery method to "refresh" the form from the data on the server. The timer event runs as long as the form is open.

This will create some LAN traffic. You can control this by how often you "refresh" the form.

Hey, just an idea!

Good Luck...

Thanks for the suggestion! I was hoping to find a way around this but its looking more and more that I am out of luck.
