I have an ip office 500v2 at 9.0 and the customer wants to upgrade a remote site but when we start the upgrade and it starts transferring the files prior to starting the upgrade it takes for ever. My question is if I let them transfer and then decide to do the upgrade at a later time can I hit no when it asks proceed with upgrade then come back tomorrow and start the upgrade and not have to transfer files.

If the system files take that long, the post upgrade files will take forever and the phones will likely be inoperative during this phase, Are you using dial up? :)

Thanks. I'm not sure what they have they are a new customer for us. I thought that is what would happen I just needed confirmation. I'm going to get them to load the new manager on a pc at the site so it won't have to go across the network.

you are going to trust your customer to do this, good luck with that

Yes I know the upgrade goes at a faster pace on the local LAN than it does over the WAN.

When we're in this situation, we ship a PC to customer with pre-installed remote access software. We ask them to connect it to their network and turn it on. An off-lease PC costs $150 +/-, and provides us with a stable platform for support.
