I have a bit of a bug that has appeared in my Word document. I am using my company's template for formal reports, but at some point (i think while I was pasting in a table) black lines appeared half an inch from the top and bottom of each page. They are totally inaccessible to me, whether in the normal view or the header/footer view, almost as if they were in some Master slide (to use Powerpoint language).
They do print out so they're not just a displaying glitch, and I have tried copying and pasting the whole document into a fresh template, but they come along for the ride.
Any ideas?

Hi,

A couple of suggestions:

1. Check the Format/Borders and Shading dialog box and see if there is a Page Border applied to the doc.

2. Go to Tools/AutoCorrect Options and click on the AutoFormat As You Type tab. Make sure the Border lines box is unchecked in the center section of the dialog box.

HTH,

Best,

Idea 1 worked a treat. Many thanks.
