My Outlook 2000 attachments, running on Windows 2000, appear to the receiver of the email as an embedded object that is unreadable. I can't find how you change how attachments are handled so they are put at the "bottom" of the email like normal rather than embedded inside the email. Help!

Are you using Word as your email editor?

What's your email format? Just make a new email and hit Format. Which option is checked?

If you're choosing File-Send to-Email recipient from an application, you MUST choose Email recipient AS AN ATTACHMENT. Anne Troy

Whoops, no, this is when using Outlook as the email editor. Under format it shows Plain Text as checked. Thanks.

Whether I choose Insert File or simply paste while the cursor is in the email window, I get the same crazy result of my attachment becoming "embedded". I can still see and open the attachment but not those who I send the email to.

Gladly - uh, but, excuse my "newness" to this site, but where can I find your email address? Thanks.

Many thanks to Dreamboat.

Just to let everyone know, here was the problem and the solution to fix it as provided by Dreamboat.

You were NOT using HTML format. You were using Outlook Rich Text format. To check, hit new message and check under Format. To change the format, follow:

Tools->Options->Mail Format->Send in this Message Format and choose HTML as format option.
