This may be a long since answered question but...
I am really sick of seeing drivers assigned to Net-It-now and Auto Sheet feeders in Citrix. Is there a way to specifically eliminate these from auto loading??

You can prevent drivers from being used, by assigning them tot non existing drivers.
Via the wtsprnt.inf that would be:

"HP DeskJet 999C" = ""

Via the CMC, just map it to a blank entry.

Free citrixprinting support

Thank you! I will give it a try.
Kevin

Also, you could download Project Compatability from DBACC.com. This is a GUI application the configures the wtsprnt.inf file...it is pretty slick, we downloaded it and run it to check for compatable drivers on over 50 Citrix MF XPe servers and it has filled all our needs. Check it out and see if it works for you.

I'll do that....but I have another question...

On one Citrix server, we do not have an wtsuprn.inf, on the other we have it but it is tiny. Should identical wtsup's be on both servers?? Does XPe not use these anyway? I am mapping, and it does not show up on the server with the file...in the file. So if I am adjusting these in the CMC, where is it looking??

Kevin

Project Comp will handle this for you!! This will verify that all servers have the same settings.

Sorry, the printer association with PC 3.0 and MF XP are stores in the Data Store.

Mike Brown CCA

By sorry are you saying now...Project Comp won't work??

If it will....How do I change to Native mode? I don't have or plan any 1.8 servers, so is this the best way to run?? (Project Comp requires this)

Kevin

It will work, but this is why the wtsprn.inf file is either small or not there...Not sure what you are asking in regards to the Native Mode...are you running 1.8 or XP? If it is XP, then in the CMC, right click on the Farm and Native Mode can be set in here...under Interoperability. If you are running 1.8, then there is an older version of PC that would need to be downloaded and installed. (also available on DBACC.com).
Hope this helps, any other questions, please let me know...

If "work with 1.8 servers.....' is unchecked, then am I in Native mode??

The issue is I have an ActiveTouch Document Loaded, as well a Black and WHite printer...loading a HP LaserJet 4500 driver! I added a blank statement to the mapping for this a little while ago, and not only did it not work, the mapping statement has now disappeared in the mapping table.

Kevin

Correct, you are in Native Mode...
With PC, you can remove the Printer from the auto-creation process.

PC worked fine. But I had no errors. Apparently the system believes that the HP 4500 driver is the correct driver for Net-It Now!, ActiveTouch Document Loader, etc.; even thought the mapping in the CMC is set to blank. I am currently searching the registry for any other clues. There must be some corruption somewhere. Under printers, if you look at these items, the assigned driver is the 4500. If you change it unders printers, it changes for that session but doesn't stay.

Sorry to bother, you may bail at any time if needed, but I appreciate your help.

Kevin

When in PC, go to the second tab...IMA Printer Driver Mappings, select the printer and delete, then run a scan against it again. When it shows as failed(the user may need to log off and on again to post an event)click on it and select remove from list...this is how I got rid of these stray mappings..

Try looking in here:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments \Windows NT x86\Drivers\Version-3

All drivers that are associated will be here...verify that there are no entries for the devices mentioned...

Also, the 4500 driver is the driver used by the UPD feature of Citrix for all PCL5c printers.

Not sure if this means anything though...I tried searching on how to remove Printers from the CMC, but no luck yet, I will update if I find anything.

If you don’t want a printer to auto create go into the CMC, expand the Printer Management Node on the left, select the drivers sub-node, and then right the drivers sub-node and select “Compatibility” from the menu.

Add the print driver that you do not want loaded (like a fax driver) into the list and it will not be loaded.

If you want to delete a print driver you will have to do this through the registry, there is no GUI to do it.

Also, if you have Project Compatibility 3.0 loaded then you will be able to see all of the driver mappings and can change them from within there.
