I have manager and vmpro both installed on the vmpro server which is Server 2008R2 and all of that works just fine. I can do everything but upgrade the system. When it does the initial check, it fails. The IP Office is local to the server and the only thing thats different about it is that I am remotely connected to the box with teamviewer. Could that remote connection be causing the problem?

Have you checked the password is correct?
Might be that the local keyboard is set to a different local, Had this with Remote desktop before

You should never use Remote Desktop with VM Pro. An Avaya veteran can verify this but I don't think it is a good idea to try to upgrade the IP Office using it either.

I did check the password, because I was able to upgrade the system from my laptop with the same password. I don't know about the local keyboard though. I'll check into that...thanks!

Ports enabled on 2008R2? UAC Disabled?

Those that can't do, usually call me.

Turn off UAC.

I don't use Remote Desktop for anything anymore thats got Avaya apps on it...lots of bad things happen! I'll turn off UAC though...didn't know that would mess with anything!

Ok, UAC is disabled. What ports would manager use for upgrades that it doesn't use for everything else?

By default the FW is disabled in the VMPro server and I would leave the default.

Reboot the server.

Rebooted the server after disabling UAC. Still no go on the upgrade. Anybody know if Teamviewer would interfere with it? Its not a deal killer since I can upgrade with my laptop, but it ties up the laptop for an hour which is undesirable.

It is definitely a server issue.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Out of desperation, I turned off the windows firewall to test and it now works. Anybody know what ports the upgrade function uses that sending/receiving a config doesn't use? It doesn't make sense that the firewall would block local traffic like that.

Thanks! I ran the avayafw.bat and the updated one as well but it didn't seem to make a difference. I'll run it again and turn the firewall on and see what happens.

logmein seems to work fine for remote access. In fact my instuctor said the same thing about using remote desktop.. don't!!
