Has any one had this problem?
Vertical Dashes in The Uploaded Web Page but when I search the page for the dash in source code and text in Dreamweaver MX there are no results.
There are 5 vertical dashes on my uploaded page that I don't want there.
These dashes also appear when the page is previewed on my computer. But there is NO evidence of the problem in design window mode or code window.Nothing.
Hint: I have used many of these vertical dashes as dividers between links displayed on the page.
They of course are visible in design and code modes.
Please can someone help?
I have created new pages and copy paste table by table to see where the problem is.
Unfortunately the problem is in the top of the table which contains most of the data.
The page is to much work to recreate.
It would take at least two weeks maybe more to recreate.
Hoping for a response.

Can you highlight these dashes in design view, then see what's highlighted in the code view? Should help you track down where they are in your code.

Hello Ihuegele,
Thank you for your reply.
That is a good suggestion and is what I would normally do.
However the dashes | are not visible in design view or code view. I can not see the |in either view so I also conducted several searches with the find tool for | in "text" and "source code" but those searches returned no results.
The |s (vertical dashes)appear only when I preview the page or view the uploaded page on the web site.
Thank you again for taking the time to respond to this strange tech problem.

Do you have characters in the table that are not within <td></td> tags?
Does this happen with all browsers?

Answer to your question: Does this happen with all browsers?
Yes (I previewed the page in two browsers).
In Firefox it displayed as |||||
