Not sure where to go next with this one. Customer had an ipo500 v2 on 8.1 we upgraded to 11.1
They then started to have problems where after a system reboot some phones (random extensions and quantity) would freeze up and not allow user to log on.
System status would show these phones in the "unregistered h323" list.
We have swapped the SD card, and most recently swapped the Poe switches put the DHCP scope on the network switches (seperate networks for voice and data).
The "quick" fix is to make a system change (i.e. name change) and then all the stuck extensions pop through and are useable again.
Anyone seen this issue or know a possible fix?
It is becoming very frustrating for the customer. And us.

Well, you need to figure out why the request is coming from the firewall as it shouldn't.
I can't tell you why since I have no idea how this is setup or configured.

Ok. So that's where I'm struggling 😀
What would cause the firewall to send a register request? DHCP? A certain rule or port on the firewall that listens for requests?

If what you're saying is true that the IPO and phone is connected on the same switch and subnet it should never go through the firewall.

Yep phones and IPO are on same switch and subnet

The VM pc is also on this switch and the firewall is patched in too so the pc gets internet access (for our remote access and customer to use RDP to it from their data network for call stats etc ).

The IPO IP route for the 0.0.0.0 rule has a gateway of the firewall.
I think we found that by amending the gateway to be the VM pc or the IPO itself it stopped the remote access (*I think this is what happened when one of the engineers was on site).

I think this must have been intrigants last post :-(
please all give him one last * as a final tribute to a most apreciated member & send him of in true Tek-tips style
