Unrecognized Media on BUExec

For the last three days worth of backups (5, counting the weekend) We've had to abort the operation. Reason given: Unable to mount specified Medium.
"The media in driveXXXX is written in an unrecognized format. Erase media to make it reusable."
This just started, nothing's changed, we've had no problem until now. We've cleaned the drive. No dice. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

i had the same problem.

try using new tapes. if it still doesnt work you know its your drive. i also found that using a tape from another backup server even though it was the same make etc didnt work even after a quick erase. ive been told that it will work after a full erase though - still have to try it though.

Yeah, I tried a new tape last night as well as cleaned the drive. No go. I s'pose we'll tear it down tonight. Goes with the territory. Thank you for your help, cygnul.
