Unrecognized database format - ERROR 3343

initially I was using Windows 98 to run database Access97 in a VB6.0 program. I was forced to change to W2k Office XP. I converted my Access97 datbases over to W2k Access XP and get the following error message 'Unrecognized database format <filename>. (ERROR 3343). The VB6.0 program will not compile.

Is this a conversion Error with Access97 to Access 2002 XP or a VB6.0 Error?
What do I need to do to fix this problem?

Which access is VB6 opening my hunch is that it is Access 97

Some time Ms.jet engine can also cause this problem
If you are using MS jet.engine check the version of Jet and try to upgrade 4.0
